Plot: After surviving a shipwreck in 1911, engineer Edward Braddock is stranded on an island ruled by Dr. Moreau, a scientist who creates human-animal hybrids through brutal experiments. Horrified by Moreau’s cruelty and oppressive control, Braddock tries to escape with Maria, a young woman, but becomes a test subject himself. When the hybrids rebel and kill Moreau, the island descends into chaos, and Braddock and Maria narrowly flee. Though Braddock regains his humanity, Maria shows unsettling signs of animal transformation.
